एवं सन्तमसे काले यो गवाश्वादिसंशयः ।
भ्रान्तेर्वा निर्णयस्तत्र प्रकाशीभवनावधिः ॥ २८७९ ॥evaṃ santamase kāle yo gavāśvādisaṃśayaḥ |
bhrāntervā nirṇayastatra prakāśībhavanāvadhiḥ || 2879 ||“Similarly when at a time of dense darkness, there are doubts regarding the animal seen being a cow or a horse, followed by the ascertainment of the truth,—the limit of all this consists in the appearance of light.”—(2879)
Kamalaśīla’s commentary (tattvasaṃgrahapañjikā):
‘Santamasakāla’ is time when there is deep and dense darkness.—(2879)
