This is the Chinese Buddhist Canon known as the Taisho, or more specifically the “Taisho Revised Tripitaka” (Takakusu Junjiro 1988). At one time, the Buddha (佛 [fu]) was in Śrāvastī (舍衛國 [she wei guo]), in the Jetavana-Anāthapiṇḍika Garden (祇樹給孤獨園 [qi shu gei gu du yuan]).

[0614c14] At that time, the World Honored One (世尊 [shi zun]) said to the bhikkhus (諸比丘 [zhu bi qiu]), "There are these three kinds of thoughts. What are these three? Namely, the thought of desire (觀欲想 [guan yu xiang]), the thought of ill-will (瞋恚想 [chen hui xiang]), and the thought of harm (殺害想 [sha hai xiang]). These, bhikkhus (比丘 [bi qiu]), are the three kinds of thoughts. Bhikkhus (比丘 [bi qiu]), you should know, if one has the thought of desire (觀欲想 [guan yu xiang]), at the time of death, one will fall into hell (地獄中 [de yu zhong]). If one has the thought of ill-will (觀瞋恚想 [guan chen hui xiang]), at the time of death, one will be reborn among animals (畜生中 [chu sheng zhong]). This refers to species like chickens and dogs, snakes and scorpions, where one is reborn. If one has the thought of harm (觀害想 [guan hai xiang]), one will also be reborn among hungry ghosts (餓鬼中 [e gui zhong]) at the time of death; their bodies will be burning, and their suffering difficult to describe. These, bhikkhus (比丘 [bi qiu]), are the three thoughts that lead to rebirth in hell (地獄中 [de yu zhong]), among hungry ghosts (餓鬼 [e gui]), and among animals (畜生 [chu sheng]).

[0614c21] "Again, there are three thoughts. What are these three? Namely, the thought of renunciation (出要想 [chu yao xiang]), the thought of harmlessness (不害想 [bu hai xiang]), and the thought of non-ill-will (不恚想 [bu hui xiang]). If a person has the thought of renunciation (出要想 [chu yao xiang]), at the time of death, they will be reborn among humans (人中 [ren zhong]). If one has the thought of harmlessness (不害想 [bu hai xiang]), at the time of death, one will naturally be reborn in the heavens (天上 [tian shang]). If a person has the thought of non-killing (不殺心 [bu sha xin]), at the time of death, they will cut off the five fetters (五結 [wu jie]) and attain Parinirvāṇa (般涅槃 [ban nie pan]) in that place. These, bhikkhus (比丘 [bi qiu]), are the three thoughts that should always be practiced, and these three unwholesome thoughts should be avoided. Thus, bhikkhus (諸比丘 [zhu bi qiu])! You should learn this."
