catvāraścāsya bhikṣavaḥ sahāyakāḥ anuvartino vyagravāditāyāṃ, kokālikakhaṇḍadravyakaṭamorakatiṣyasamudradattāḥ; te bhikṣūnevaṃ vadanti: yūyamāyuṣmanto'sya bhikṣoḥ kiṃcidvocata kalyāṇaṃ pāpakaṃ ; tatkasya hetoḥ? eṣa hi bhikṣurdharmavādī vinayavādī; dharmaṃ caiṣa bhikṣurvinayaṃ ca samādāya pragṛhya anuvyavaharati; jānaṃścaiṣa bhikṣurbhāṣate, nājānan; (i 82) yaccāsmai bhikṣave rocate, kṣamate ca, asmākamapi tadrocate kṣamate ca iti.

etatprakaraṇaṃ bhikṣavo bhagavata ārocayanti: ājñāptā asmābhirbhadanta kokālikakhaṇḍadravyakaṭamorakatiṣyasamudradattāḥ (i 83) meṣakena; te meṣakenājñāpyamānastadeva vastu sthāmaśaḥ parāmṛśya abhiniviśya anuvyavaharati idameva satyaṃ mohamanyaditi; bhagavānāha: ājñāpayata yūyaṃ bhikṣavaḥ kokālikakhaṇḍadravyakaṭamorakatiṣyasamudradattān jñapticaturthena karmaṇā iti, ye punaranye'pyevaṃjātīyaḥ evaṃ ca punarājñāpayitavyāḥ.
śayanāsanaprajñaptiṃ kṛtvā gaṇḍīmākoṭya pṛṣṭavācikayā bhikṣūn samanuyujya sarvasaṃghe sanniṣaṇṇe sannipatite ekena bhikṣuṇā jñaptiṃ kṛtvā karma kartavyaṃ.
