This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 112.37

ततो नखेहि तीक्ष्णेहि आयसेहि स्वयंभुहि ।
अन्यमन्यं पि पाटेन्ति क्रुद्धा क्रोधवसानुगा ॥ ३७ ॥

tato nakhehi tīkṣṇehi āyasehi svayaṃbhuhi |
anyamanyaṃ pi pāṭenti kruddhā krodhavasānugā || 37 ||

Carried away by anger and frenzy, they assail one another with their own sharp talons of iron. (37)
