This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 112.11

कथं भवां सुखं शयति वनप्रान्तस्मिं श्रोणक ।
कथं अरण्ये विहरन्तो एकाकी रमसे कथं ॥ ११ ॥

kathaṃ bhavāṃ sukhaṃ śayati vanaprāntasmiṃ śroṇaka |
kathaṃ araṇye viharanto ekākī ramase kathaṃ || 11 ||

How, friend Shronaka, can you be at ease as you lie at the edge of the forest? How, living alone in the wood, can you be happy? (11)
