This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 108.8

सर्वपापस्याकरणं कुशलस्योपसंपदा ।
स्वचित्तपर्यादापनं एतद् बुद्धानुशासनं ॥ ८ ॥

sarvapāpasyākaraṇaṃ kuśalasyopasaṃpadā |
svacittaparyādāpanaṃ etad buddhānuśāsanaṃ || 8 ||

To commit no sin, to achieve virtue, to master one’s heart—this is the teaching of the Buddhas. (8)
