This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 103.23

समानभागं कुर्यासि ग्रामे आक्रुष्टवन्दितं ।
मनोप्रदोषं रक्षेसि क्षान्तो चानुमतो भव ॥ २३ ॥

samānabhāgaṃ kuryāsi grāme ākruṣṭavanditaṃ |
manopradoṣaṃ rakṣesi kṣānto cānumato bhava || 23 ||

Maintain your equanimity whether you be reviled or spoken well of in the village. Keep ill-will away from your mind. Be calm and humble, (23)
