by Émile Senart | 1882 | 56,574 words

This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 102.19

इह मे अभूषि पंचाभिज्ञा दिष्ट्या शिष्याण विधेयता अभू ।
दिष्ट्या मो न पापसंगता स्म दिष्ट्या अनुभोमो धर्मराजानं ॥ १९ ॥

iha me abhūṣi paṃcābhijñā diṣṭyā śiṣyāṇa vidheyatā abhū |
diṣṭyā mo na pāpasaṃgatā sma diṣṭyā anubhomo dharmarājānaṃ || 19 ||

Here I have won the five super-knowledges. All hail! Here is the docility of pupils. All hail! We do not associate with evil. All hail! We know the king of dharma. (19)
