This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 96.29

दिष्ट्या पुरुषशार्दूल उत्पन्नो लोकसुन्दरो ।
हिताय सर्वसत्वानां चिरन् तिष्ठ महामुने ॥ २९ ॥

diṣṭyā puruṣaśārdūla utpanno lokasundaro |
hitāya sarvasatvānāṃ ciran tiṣṭha mahāmune || 29 ||

O joy! Thou wert born a boon to the world, O tiger-like Man, to confer blessings on all beings, O long-living great Sage. (29)
