This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 91.37

न मे एषा मारिष भार्या राक्षस्य् एषा भयानिका ।
मनुष्यखादिका रौद्रा एवं जानेथनत्तवे ॥ ३७ ॥

na me eṣā māriṣa bhāryā rākṣasy eṣā bhayānikā |
manuṣyakhādikā raudrā evaṃ jānethanattave || 37 ||

“My friends, she is not my wife; she is a terrible ogress. She is a cruel man-eater. Be assured of this.” (37)
