This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 91.4

इमस्मिं वाणिजा मार्गे राक्षसीयो भयानिका ।
ऋद्धीये वशितां प्राप्ता मायाचारे च शिक्षिता ॥ ४ ॥

imasmiṃ vāṇijā mārge rākṣasīyo bhayānikā |
ṛddhīye vaśitāṃ prāptā māyācāre ca śikṣitā || 4 ||

“Traders, on the way we go are terrible ogresses who wield power through their magic and are well-versed in the art of illusion. (4)
