This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 89.50

वन्दति च उत्तमयशं यशप्राप्तो मृदुतलेहि जालेहि ।
शीर्षं परिमार्जते च नरर्षभो कुंजरपुत्रस्य ॥ ५० ॥

vandati ca uttamayaśaṃ yaśaprāpto mṛdutalehi jālehi |
śīrṣaṃ parimārjate ca nararṣabho kuṃjaraputrasya || 50 ||

Having won glory he bows before him whose glory is supreme. And the Valiant Man, with his gentle webbed fingers, strokes the head of his noble son, and says, (50)
