This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 89.32

एतस्य देवता हि द्वारं विवरेन्सु लोकनायकस्य ।
शब्दं चान्तरहाये मा कोचि जनो श्रुणे शब्दं ॥ ३२ ॥

etasya devatā hi dvāraṃ vivarensu lokanāyakasya |
śabdaṃ cāntarahāye mā koci jano śruṇe śabdaṃ || 32 ||

“The devas opened the gate for him, the Saviour of the world, and stilled the noise that no one might hear it. (32)
