This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 88.5

शक्रो ब्रवीत् प्रशमदानदमेन वीर किं प्रार्थयेत् भगवतीसुखतां परत्र ।
सो ह्य् अब्रवीत् भगवतीपुरे नास्ति काय प्राग् एव खो भगवतीपुर-अर्थिकेषु ॥ ५ ॥

śakro bravīt praśamadānadamena vīra kiṃ prārthayet bhagavatīsukhatāṃ paratra |
so hy abravīt bhagavatīpure nāsti kāya prāg eva kho bhagavatīpura-arthikeṣu || 5 ||

And Shakra said, “O hero, with your calm, your charity, and your self-control, why should you not seek the happiness of Bhagavati in the other world?” Sarvamdada replied, “Naught do I care for the city of Bhagavati, much less for those who long for it. (5)
