This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

चतुर्महापथे दृष्ट्वा लोकज्येष्ठं दीपंकरं ।
जटिलं प्रस्तवे हृष्टो बोधिं प्रर्थेन्तो अनुत्तरां ॥ ८४ ॥

caturmahāpathe dṛṣṭvā lokajyeṣṭhaṃ dīpaṃkaraṃ |
jaṭilaṃ prastave hṛṣṭo bodhiṃ prarthento anuttarāṃ || 84 ||

“Whilst I was questing after the supreme enlightenment, I saw Dipamkara, the world’s Foremost Man, at a crossroads, wearing matted hair, and in my exultation I lauded him. (84)
