This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 87.70

उत्पन्ने च जिनेन्द्रे देवो तदा प्रवर्षति अच्छिन्न ।
धाराहि तेनुद्गमासि घोषो विश्वभुस्य आसि संज्ञा ॥ ७० ॥

utpanne ca jinendre devo tadā pravarṣati acchinna |
dhārāhi tenudgamāsi ghoṣo viśvabhusya āsi saṃjñā || 70 ||

“When the lord of Conquerors Vishvabhu was born it rained in a continuous downpour. So the report went forth that his name was Vishvabhu. (70)
