This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 87.53

एके अस्थासु ऋद्धीये एके अस्थान्सु कर्मणा ।
ऋद्धिकर्म स्थपेत्वान अन्तरा परिनिर्वृता ॥ ५३ ॥

eke asthāsu ṛddhīye eke asthānsu karmaṇā |
ṛddhikarma sthapetvāna antarā parinirvṛtā || 53 ||

“Some thrived on their magic power, others on their deeds; but then putting aside their magic power and their deeds, they passed away in the middle of their sojourn in heaven. (53)
