This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 86.15

आमन्त्रेमि महाराज रेणु भूमिपते तव ।
प्रव्रजामि प्रजहित्वा राज्यं पौरोहित्यं च मे ॥ १५ ॥

āmantremi mahārāja reṇu bhūmipate tava |
pravrajāmi prajahitvā rājyaṃ paurohityaṃ ca me || 15 ||

To you, King Renu, lord of the land, I declare that I am going forth, leaving your kingdom and my ministry here. (15)
