This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.
Verse 78.27
भवतु जननी सवत्सा नन्दन्तु वनमृगा च वनदेवता ।
आख्याते नन्दतु मे अनयना माता रतनकेन ॥ २७ ॥
bhavatu jananī savatsā nandantu vanamṛgā ca vanadevatā |
ākhyāte nandatu me anayanā mātā ratanakena || 27 ||
“May mother and son be glad, and the beasts and the devas of the forest as well,” said the king. “See to it, I bid you, that the sightless mother rejoice with her precious jewel.” (27)
