This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 78.6

मोरशुकजीवजीवकचकोरकरविंकशकुनमिथुनेहि ।
समन्तं हि तं वनवरं शोभति मधुरं रवन्तेहि ॥ ६ ॥

moraśukajīvajīvakacakorakaraviṃkaśakunamithunehi |
samantaṃ hi taṃ vanavaraṃ śobhati madhuraṃ ravantehi || 6 ||

All that fair wood was pleasant with the sweet songs of fairing birds, peacock, pheasant, partridge and cuckoo. (6)
