This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 76.138

ānaṃdabheriravaṃ śrutvā śākyarāṣtre saṃgītiṃ devagaṇavāditaṃ lumbinīye |
yena pratijñā kṛtā buddho bhaviṣyaṃ loke so eṣyati bhūtavacano vigatāndhakāro || 138 ||

When he has heard the joyous sound of drums in the kingdom of the Shakyans, and the music played by the host of devas in Lumbini, he who declared ‘I will become a Buddha in the world,’ will come, making true his word and dispelling the darkness. (138)
