This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

पुनःपुनर् याचनका उपेन्ति पुनर्पुनः सत्पुरुषा ददन्ति ।
पुनर्पुनः सत्पुरुषा पि दत्त्वा पुनःपुनर् स्वर्गम् उपेन्ति स्थानं ॥ १२२ ॥

punaḥpunar yācanakā upenti punarpunaḥ satpuruṣā dadanti |
punarpunaḥ satpuruṣā pi dattvā punaḥpunar svargam upenti sthānaṃ || 122 ||

Again and again beggars approach; again and again true men give them charity. Again and again the true men who have given go to their place in heaven. (122)
