This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 76.109

प्रव्रजितस्मिं कुमारे पिता अकासि तस्मिं अप्रसादं ।
गत्वान सोमदत्तो प्रसादयेसि धरणीपालं ॥ १०९ ॥

pravrajitasmiṃ kumāre pitā akāsi tasmiṃ aprasādaṃ |
gatvāna somadatto prasādayesi dharaṇīpālaṃ || 109 ||

Now when the prince left home to take up the religious life, his father took it hard, but Somadatta’s going as well appeased the king. (109)
