This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 76.49

एतस्य दानि समयो यं दानि भगवां पि हि ।
चारिकां प्रक्रमे शास्ता अनुकंपाय प्राणिनां ॥ ४९ ॥

etasya dāni samayo yaṃ dāni bhagavāṃ pi hi |
cārikāṃ prakrame śāstā anukaṃpāya prāṇināṃ || 49 ||

“It is time that the Exalted One, too, should now set out on his journey, a Master taking compassion on men. (49)
