This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 75.90

हन्त मारिष गंसामि सुप्ता याव न बुध्यति ।
योगं मा धूर्ता जानाति पौरुषेयं इहागता ॥ ९० ॥

hanta māriṣa gaṃsāmi suptā yāva na budhyati |
yogaṃ mā dhūrtā jānāti pauruṣeyaṃ ihāgatā || 90 ||

“Well, my friends,” said the merchant, “I will go before she who is asleep wakes up, and comes here and craftily learns what we men intend doing.” (90)
