This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 75.86

स्वचित्तयमदूतेहि प्रेषिता यमशासनं ।
युष्मे खु दानि गच्छेथ अप्रमादेन स्वं गृहं ॥ ८६ ॥

svacittayamadūtehi preṣitā yamaśāsanaṃ |
yuṣme khu dāni gacchetha apramādena svaṃ gṛhaṃ || 86 ||

“Our own hearts were Yama’s messengers to send us to Yama’s realm. Do ye go, then, without any dallying to your homes. (86)
