This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 75.72

ये पि मं पुत्रका आसि बालका मंजुभाणिनो ।
ते पि खायिता एताहि रसगृद्धाहि मारिष ॥ ७२ ॥

ye pi maṃ putrakā āsi bālakā maṃjubhāṇino |
te pi khāyitā etāhi rasagṛddhāhi māriṣa || 72 ||

Those of us who were sons, young and soft-voiced, have been devoured by these voracious women, my friend. (72)
