This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 75.67

न चाहं सहस्रनयनो विरूढको नैव यक्षो वा ।
वयम् आर्या धनार्थाय ओगाढा सलिलपतिं ।
भिन्नयाना स्म संजाता ते स्म इस्त्रीहि उद्धृता ॥ ६७ ॥

na cāhaṃ sahasranayano virūḍhako naiva yakṣo vā |
vayam āryā dhanārthāya ogāḍhā salilapatiṃ |
bhinnayānā sma saṃjātā te sma istrīhi uddhṛtā || 67 ||

“I and my friends, good sirs, went down to the sea in quest of wealth. But we were ship-wrecked, and here we are after being rescued by women. (67)
