This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 75.14

ता च अवगाह्य सलिलं सकरुणमधुर्ं गिराम् उदीरेन्सुः ।
यथार्यपुत्रा चपलं भवथा नाथा अनाथानां ॥ १४ ॥

tā ca avagāhya salilaṃ sakaruṇamadhurṃ girām udīrensuḥ |
yathāryaputrā capalaṃ bhavathā nāthā anāthānāṃ || 14 ||

Their heads dazzled with earrings of Jambunada gold. With their golden-brown eyes, they made a fine array on the sea-shore. (14)
