This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 75.5

अथ मकरमत्स्येन भिज्जे तं यानपात्रं लवणतोये ।
अभिद्रवति वेगतूर्णो गरुडो च पक्षवातेन ॥ ५ ॥

atha makaramatsyena bhijje taṃ yānapātraṃ lavaṇatoye |
abhidravati vegatūrṇo garuḍo ca pakṣavātena || 5 ||

But their vessel was wrecked on the sea by a monster fish, which swiftly dashed against it with the speed of a Garuda with the wind in his wings. (5)
