This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 67.157

यत्तका ते हस्ती अश्वा च सर्वेषां कर्णा पिधीयन्तु ।
मा मम सिंहनादेन स्वकं सैन्यं भजिष्यति ॥ १५७ ॥

yattakā te hastī aśvā ca sarveṣāṃ karṇā pidhīyantu |
mā mama siṃhanādena svakaṃ sainyaṃ bhajiṣyati || 157 ||

“Let the ears of all the elephants and horses you have he stopped, lest your own army he shattered when it hears my lion-roar. (157)
