This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 67.138

न एष वेणो न चण्डालो अथ न पुनः पुक्कसो ।
पुत्रो इक्ष्वाकुराजस्य तं त्वं दासो ति मन्यसि ॥ १३८ ॥

na eṣa veṇo na caṇḍālo atha na punaḥ pukkaso |
putro ikṣvākurājasya taṃ tvaṃ dāso ti manyasi || 138 ||

“He is no musician, nor a candala, nor yet a pukkasa. He is the son of King Ikshvaku, and you think that he is a slave. (138)
