This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 67.88

न पश्यामि न द्रक्ष्यामि को अर्थो जीवितेन मे ।
अद्यैवाहं गमिष्यामि पुरा प्राणा जनन्ति मे ॥ ८८ ॥

na paśyāmi na drakṣyāmi ko artho jīvitena me |
adyaivāhaṃ gamiṣyāmi purā prāṇā jananti me || 88 ||

“I do not see, nor shall I see, what good there is for me in life. I shall go away this very day ere the breath of life deserts me.” (88)
