This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 67.72

किं नु रूपेण कल्याणि अपि चायं सुशीलवान् ।
सुशीलवानि ति कृत्वान एषो ऽस्माकं हि रोचति ॥ ७२ ॥

kiṃ nu rūpeṇa kalyāṇi api cāyaṃ suśīlavān |
suśīlavāni ti kṛtvāna eṣo 'smākaṃ hi rocati || 72 ||

“Fair lady, what matters his outward form? He is virtuous, and he pleases me because I have regard to his virtue. (72)
