This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 67.48

प्रसन्नमुखवर्णा त्वं स्मितपूर्वं च प्रेक्षसि ।
भोति खलु उत्तमार्थाय एदृशी वर्णसम्पदा ॥ ४८ ॥

prasannamukhavarṇā tvaṃ smitapūrvaṃ ca prekṣasi |
bhoti khalu uttamārthāya edṛśī varṇasampadā || 48 ||

“You have a look of content and you regard me with a smile. Surely such a blissful mien betokens the greatest good fortune.” (48)
