This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 67.36

आमन्त्रेमि च गच्छामि दत्त्वा राजानुतप्यसि ।
यो मे स्त्रीभिः प्रवारेत्वा मिथ्याकरोषि याचनां ॥ ३६ ॥

āmantremi ca gacchāmi dattvā rājānutapyasi |
yo me strībhiḥ pravāretvā mithyākaroṣi yācanāṃ || 36 ||

“I’ll go and tell people that you are a king who makes offers and then repents of them, a king who offered me the choice of a woman and then broke his promise.” (36)
