This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 67.35

आसांप्रतं न इक्ष्वाकु यं वरं नो लभामथ ।
यं मे स्त्रियं प्रवारेत्वा पश्चात् समनुतप्यसि ॥ ३५ ॥

āsāṃprataṃ na ikṣvāku yaṃ varaṃ no labhāmatha |
yaṃ me striyaṃ pravāretvā paścāt samanutapyasi || 35 ||

“It is not fitting, O Ikshvaku, that I do not get this boon, for, after offering me the choice of a woman you repent of your offer. (35)
