This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 67.12

ततः संचारको दूतः राजानम् एतद् अब्रवीत् ।
ब्राह्मणो देवम् अनुप्राप्तो राजानं द्रष्टुम् इच्छति ॥ १२ ॥

tataḥ saṃcārako dūtaḥ rājānam etad abravīt |
brāhmaṇo devam anuprāpto rājānaṃ draṣṭum icchati || 12 ||

The servitor reported this to the king, saying, “A brahman who wishes to see the king has come to your majesty.” (12)
