This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

ता हृष्टमनसंकल्पा सर्वालंकारभूषिता ।
मृगिका इव संत्रस्ताः द्वारे द्वारे उपागमि ॥ ४ ॥

tā hṛṣṭamanasaṃkalpā sarvālaṃkārabhūṣitā |
mṛgikā iva saṃtrastāḥ dvāre dvāre upāgami || 4 ||

The women in great excitement and decked out in all their finery, but timid as fawns, went about from door to door. (4)
