This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 65.98

न चास्य भावं पृथिवीय ज्ञायते समन्ततो देवसहस्रकोटियो ।
घोषं उदीरयन्ति भविष्यते जिनो प्रहृष्टा वस्त्राणि च भ्रामयेन्सुः ॥ ९८ ॥

na cāsya bhāvaṃ pṛthivīya jñāyate samantato devasahasrakoṭiyo |
ghoṣaṃ udīrayanti bhaviṣyate jino prahṛṣṭā vastrāṇi ca bhrāmayensuḥ || 98 ||

“Even on earth his true nature was not known, but all around a thousand kotis of devas proclaimed, “He will become a Conqueror,” and in exultation they waved their garments about. (98)
