This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 65.71

so haṃ tavādya sabalaṃ yadhi nirjinitvā aruṇodaye pratibhāte bhavitāsmi buddho |
siṃhāsanam anugato hi na kaści kṛṣṇa uttiṣṭhate caramadehagato abuddho || 71 ||

“I am he who this day has in fight vanquished thee and thy power. When the rising sun begins to shine I shall become Buddha. For, O Dark One, none who has sat on this throne in his last incarnation fails to arise as a Buddha.” (71)
