This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 65.1

बोधिसत्वो यथा वीरो नैरंजनाम् उपागमे ।
अथ कालो महानागो एकको व अनुचिन्तयत् ॥ १ ॥

bodhisatvo yathā vīro nairaṃjanām upāgame |
atha kālo mahānāgo ekako va anucintayat || 1 ||

When the heroic Bodhisattva came to the river Nairanjana, then did Kala, the great Naga, all alone, begin to reflect. (1)
