This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 64.617

ये तस्य राज्ये निवसन्ति लोके प्रतिष्ठन्ति ते वरबुद्धिज्ञाने ।
ते सर्वपापेषु अतिक्रमित्वा देवमनुष्येषु चरन्ति धर्मं ॥ ६१७ ॥

ye tasya rājye nivasanti loke pratiṣṭhanti te varabuddhijñāne |
te sarvapāpeṣu atikramitvā devamanuṣyeṣu caranti dharmaṃ || 617 ||

Those who dwell in the world under his rule abide in knowledge of the excellent wisdom. Passing beyond all sins, they practise the dharma among devas and men. (617)
