This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 64.489

स्थामवर उपेति वीर्यवन्तो विचरति सर्वां वसुन्धरां अदीनो ।
बुद्धशतसहस्र सत्करोति जिनवरधर्म धारेत्व लुज्जमानं ॥ ४८९ ॥

sthāmavara upeti vīryavanto vicarati sarvāṃ vasundharāṃ adīno |
buddhaśatasahasra satkaroti jinavaradharma dhāretva lujjamānaṃ || 489 ||

Whoso supports the dharma of the noble Conqueror when it is breaking up, through his energy attains excellent strength, and proudly moves over the whole earth, honouring hundreds of thousands of Buddhas. (489)
