This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 64.249

दिव्या च वाद्या प्रपद्यि अन्तरीक्षे संगीति दिव्या अभु देवतानां ।
पुष्पां प्रवर्षे नभि देवपुत्रा यदा हने वसुमतिं बोधिसत्वो ॥ २४९ ॥

divyā ca vādyā prapadyi antarīkṣe saṃgīti divyā abhu devatānāṃ |
puṣpāṃ pravarṣe nabhi devaputrā yadā hane vasumatiṃ bodhisatvo || 249 ||

Celestial music fell on the air, and there were celestial choruses of devas; devas in the sky poured down a rain of flowers, when the Bodhisattva struck the ground. (249)
