This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 64.215

त्यजित्व दिव्या रतनानि शुद्धा नाना विमाना स्फुटरत्नचित्ता ।
नक्षत्र-आभा नभे विद्युताभा सर्वो विभासि पुरतो जनस्य ॥ २१५ ॥

tyajitva divyā ratanāni śuddhā nānā vimānā sphuṭaratnacittā |
nakṣatra-ābhā nabhe vidyutābhā sarvo vibhāsi purato janasya || 215 ||

“Thou didst renounce bright celestial jewels, and divers mansions bright with plentiful gems, glittering like stars in the sky and flashing like lightning. Now thou art all radiant in the eyes of men.” (215)
