This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 64.208

ये भद्रकल्पे अभु लोकनाथाः संबोधिप्राप्ता मुनि देवदेवा ।
पूर्वे निषण्णा इह वृक्षमूले बुध्यन्सु वीरा शिव-अग्रबोधिं ॥ २०८ ॥

ye bhadrakalpe abhu lokanāthāḥ saṃbodhiprāptā muni devadevā |
pūrve niṣaṇṇā iha vṛkṣamūle budhyansu vīrā śiva-agrabodhiṃ || 208 ||

“They who in auspicious kalpas were saviours of the world, having attained enlightenment, who were sages, devas of devas, of old sat here at the foot of the tree and woke up as heroes to the blest supreme enlightenment. (208)
