This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 64.85

श्रुत्वान अतुलं घोषं कालनागो महाबलो ।
बोधिसत्वस्य वेगेन भवनातो समुद्गतो ॥ ८५ ॥

śrutvāna atulaṃ ghoṣaṃ kālanāgo mahābalo |
bodhisatvasya vegena bhavanāto samudgato || 85 ||

The mighty Kala, the Naga, hearing the matchless voice of the Bodhisattva, hurriedly rose up from his abode. (85)
