This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 53.51

नापि + + + मरणं नापि च मम एव एदृशं दुःखं ।
अनुभूतो एष अर्थो न किंचि लोके अनागम्यं ॥ ५१ ॥

nāpi + + + maraṇaṃ nāpi ca mama eva edṛśaṃ duḥkhaṃ |
anubhūto eṣa artho na kiṃci loke anāgamyaṃ || 51 ||

“‘I am not afraid of death, and a thing like this is no ill for me. This salutary lesson have I learnt, that death is no wise avoidable in the world.’ (51)
