This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 52.145

प्रस्कन्दको बलाकल्पो उज्जंगलो च जंगलो ।
एतेहि पापग्रामेहि एकापि भिक्षा न लभ्यति ॥ १४५ ॥

praskandako balākalpo ujjaṃgalo ca jaṃgalo |
etehi pāpagrāmehi ekāpi bhikṣā na labhyati || 145 ||

Praskandaka, Balakalpa, Ujjangala and Jangala, in these wicked villages I received not a single piece of alms. (145)
